The Future Looks Great

... being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6: (NKJV)
Paul reminds us in his letter to the Thessalonians that we are a three part being, spirit, soul and body. We live so much each day by the thoughts of our soul and the actions of our body, we forget we are also a spirit being.
Jesus has redeemed our spirit already and it is perfect. It is not only free from sin; it cannot sin. As believers, we never sin from our spirit and any sins we do commit do not go into our spirit. As Christians, we sin first from our soul and then the actions are carried out in our body. When we confess our sins and repent of our actions, our soul is cleansed along with the deeds we committed from our body. Our spirit is where the Holy Spirit lives, and He does not leave when we sin. He remains in the spotless place within us, our redeemed spirit.
How redeemed is our spirit? It is perfect. It is as perfect as God Himself and as righteous as Jesus was in His resurrection when He was seated at the right hand of God.
What About The Future?
The opening verse from Philippians 1:26 tells us that God, who has begun a good work in us, will complete it until the we stand before Jesus Christ. So what is the future for our soul and body? Perfection, just like our spirit. God will not begin His work in perfection and end in mediocrity. God ends in the same perfection He begins with. Our spirit was saved at the moment we believed in Jesus. God is daily working on our soul with agoal to conquer sin in our daily life. Our body is yet to be saved. That will occur at the rapture of the Church, the resurrection of the Church age saints. At that time we will have a resurrection body just like Jesus has.
The Ultimate Goal
When I stand before Jesus, ready to occupy my place in eternity with Him, I will be perfect in spirit, soul and body. Daily my attitude should be that if my spirit is perfect, my soul can reject the temptation to sin; my body does not have to obey the lusts of the world. Both can walk free from sin by the authority of God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. In the meantime, enjoy life and realize your path grows brighter every day! At the cross, Jesus saved us from the penalty of sin. In our daily walk, He saves us from the power of sin. When Jesus comes for His Church and takes us to heaven, we will be saved from the presence of sin. The future looks great!
